Projekt Macro II

Inspired by the YouTube video of Stefan Gross alias Stefan Traumflieger I also tried to take a so-called GIGA pixel macro of a lichen-covered branch. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOsOvSBHWII&t=1069s. After a ramble through the heathland of Zons, I found a 0.5 cm thick 20 cm long branch in the deadwood. At home, I first placed the branch with a tripod under my Kaiser RS 2 XA copy stand. With my Canon 80D, equipped with the macro lens EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, I took a focus row and calculated a sharp image with Helicon Focus 6. I did the same with other sections that overlapped a bit. With the panorama function of Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 I then calculated the individual areas to a large image. The result was a very impressive image of 10731 x 4511 pixels with 36.9 MB.
